GOD DID IT!!!
We have 100% of what we need to leave for language school!
We have been given final clearance!
Our life on pre-field has been a vivid outplaying of 1 Corinthians 12:12-31. These are the verses that talk about the unity and diversity in the Body of Christ. We have seen first-hand how God uses different peoples gifts and abilities to further His work. We have been amazed & humbled as we have watched God work through all of you to bring us to 100%. We are just one piece of the puzzle, ALL are important and needed! We have had people give of their time, finances, gifts, and talents. We have had people clean, sort, & pack. Others have researched items on line, purchased things for Togo, brought meals, or run errands. We have had gifts purchased for the Togolese, dental work done for free, a place to stay, and a vehicle to borrow. We have been encouraged with letters, phone calls, texts, and prayers.
We truly are blessed to be serving alongside so many faithful people.
THANK YOU!!

God uses people’s gifts, talents, and abilities to reach others with the Gospel!
Every gift and ability that God has given us can be used to reach others with the Gospel. We have a group of young college age girls that are good at cooking. They have come up with a creative way to use their gift to further the Gospel in Mango, Togo. They are making pastries and pies to sell at a booth this year at the” Apple’Umpkin Festival” in Warsaw, NY. They plan on having information at their booth about us and what God is doing in Mango. The money that they raise from selling the pastries will be donated to our family get to the field.

Little Details
This coming month there are a lot of little details that need to be taken care of. We have to register both Josh and Caleb for BBC. Caleb will be doing their dual enrollment, which is both high school and college. We also will be setting up Daniel and Michael for another year of homeschool. Brenda still has college classes to finish and both Eric and Brenda have pre-field assignments that need to be completed. We also need to start the process of registering for language school in Albertville, France. Please pray for us as we juggle these many details.

God can take what we have and turns it into something Glorious!
WOW, our own cow! We’ve had a family purchase a calf for us. Yes, a calf. And a friend in our church who raises beef cattle will raise it for us
along with the rest of their herd. When the cow is fully grown it will be auctioned off. A portion of the money will go to purchasing a new calf (in order to
start the process over again) while the rest is given to partner with us in helping to spread the gospel to the people of Mango. I love that God can use whatever we have to further His kingdom, even cows!

God is good! We have been busy visiting churches and individuals and our support level is now at 50%
Church Visitation
We were greatly encouraged by the people at Harmony Baptist in New Castle, PA. Last year they sent a group of their members to Mango to help with
building the hospital and plan on sending another group in Feb.2013. It was exciting to swap stories and pictures of Mango. It was a double blessing that they voted to take us on. This makes them our 4th partnering church! Glory to God!
We were also grateful for the opportunity to present in First Baptist Church in Butler, PA. We enjoyed catching up with Pastor Todd Wentworth and his wife Elizabeth, as well as meeting new friends in Christ. Eric also enjoyed playing violin with Todd.
Individual Visitation
We meet with a coach from our Kingdom Come Training once a week. Together we have set up a goal to meet with 3 individuals or couples a
week to share what God has been doing and to present the opportunity for them to partner with us financially and especially in prayer. We want to praise God; we now have 17 individuals that are partnering with us for the ministry of reaching the people of Mango.

Our pre-field this month gave us a taste of opposite weather.
We had a fantastic week with the folks at Starkey Road Baptist Church in Seminole, Florida. Upon returning from Florida we were privileged to be able to
visit First Baptist Church in Warsaw, NY.

GOD HAS BEEN FAITHFUL IN RAISING UP PARTNERS
God has blessed us with three partnering churches and four monthly individuals. We also have a woman who has started “Tailoring for Togo”.
This is a sewing ministry to help raise needed funds. Also, there is a family who is working with Steer International to raise
and sell beef cows with the profits going towards the ministry in Mango, Togo.
It is so exciting to see how God is bringing together a team of churches and individuals with a heart for the
people of Mango. We feel honored and humbled to represent them in Mango, Togo, West Africa.

It is hard to believe that it is already 2012. As we look back over the last year we have a lot to be thankful for. As a family, we have had an incredible year. God has blessed us beyond what we could have ever imagined. We started and completed the application process for ABWE, attended candidate school and were appointed missionaries to Togo, West Africa, met team members going to Mango, went on a three week survey trip to Mango, Togo, attended Good Soil and the Missionary Enrichment Conference. Also, we began talking to Pastors in Sept. of 2011 and started visiting churches in Oct. All praise and glory to God!

Church Visitations (11/22/11)
We praise God for giving us the opportunities to share at West
Bethany Baptist Church in East Bethany, NY and Living Hope Baptist Church in Geneva, NY. What an encouragement to fellowship with believers and share what Christ has been doing in Mango, Togo. As an added blessing, we were able to stay over at my brother’s house in Penn Yan, NY. It was great to spend time with him and made for a shorter trip to Geneva
Sunday morning.

Church Visitation (10/08/11)
The month of September was a busy pre-field month for us. We praise God for the opportunities to share with our new friends at First Baptist Church of Randolph in Randolph, NY and Roanoke Community Church in Stafford, NY. It is so encouraging to be able to share and fellowship with believers who we haven’t known previously and yet, friendships can develop so quickly through our oneness in Christ.

We were able to share our pre-field trip experience this last Sunday (7/31/11) with our home church Grace Baptist Batavia. It is always encouraging to be with our church family. Their support, love, prayers, and gifts have been what has enabled us visit Togo in preparation for full time ministry. The boys put together a video from some of the pictures that we took while on our trip. We hope they will give you a glimpse of Togo and how AWESOME our God is! click here to read our full update

Life in Mango (6/30/11)
The days in Africa are really split up into two. Everyone gets up early, eats, and goes off to work. Then they break from noon till two. During this time, they eat lunch, shower, and take a siesta. This is the hottest part of the day. We have had some great oppertunities to just interact and talk ( well, at least attempt to talk) to the Togolese people.

We made it to Togo! (6/28/11)
God has miraculously allowed us to make it to Togo in one piece. Upon arriving, we were able to immediately
get a taste for some of the life and culture in Togo. We had a long 10 hour ride up north to Mango and got a lot of time to stare out the windows at the extremely poor Togolese life. God blessed us by enabling us to see some amazing elephants. Click here to read our full update. Click here to see more photos. |
We are finally off to Togo!!!!
We made it to Rochester airport. Thankfully, we sucessfully made it through customs and got all of our luggage on its way. Thank you so much to our sending off committee. You guys were great. Click here to see more pictures. Keep checking for more updates along the way.
Please continue to keep us in your prayers. |
Suitcase need fufilled! (6/17/11)
God greatly provided the suitcases our family needed. Due to the high cost of international shipping, many missionaries have to go with out anything not produced in Togo. Thankfully, when we go to visit, each person is allowed to bring two fifty pound suitcases, a carry-on, and a personal item. We will not be needing all this space and volunteered to bring some of the much needed missionary and hospital supplies. Over the course of the last month we have received meical supplies, DVDs, powdered milk, washing machine parts, tools, books, etc. We would like to thank the people at Grace Baptist Chruch Batavia, NY for their help and support in providing the many suitcases.
Please Pray:- That the remainder of stuff to be brought to Togo gets to our house in time for us to pack it before we leave.
- That we will make it quickly and easily through customs without any problems. - That none of the luggage gets lost but arrives on time. |
Off to Togo (5/31/11)
Please pray:-For our safety as we travel
-God’s purposes will be accomplished -Everyone reacts well to the malaria pills and jetlag -God will work out all the many little details in regard to the trip -All goes well getting through customs; we will be bringing a lot of random things that other missionaries have a need of. |
We are heading to Togo for our survey trip. We will be leaving Rochester, New York at 10:30 am on Thursday, June 23. We will have layovers in both New York City and Brussels, Belgium. We will than arrive in Lome, Togo, West Africa on Friday, June 24, at 5:10 pm. We will be in Mango for the first 8 or 9 days of the trip. Here we will visit and help out at the building site of the Wendall Kempton Memorial Medical and Ministry Center. The final portion of our trip will be at the southern hospital in Tsiko. We will arrive back in the states on July 9.
|
ABWE Conferances (5/31/11)
Please pray:-For safety and all the travaling involved
-For God's provision for all the expenses -All the missionaries would have a great time of fellowship -That we would put all that we learn to memory and into practice -For our spiritual growth and fruitfulness as a family and individually |
We will be at ABWE headquarters for our recognition service on Friday, July 15. We will then be starting the Good Soil classes which will last until July 18. On July 18, we than head to the Missions Enrichment Conference which goes untill July 22. This is a conference attended by all the missionary families who are home on furlough, and it is a really neat family time. There will be plenty of opportunities to get to know missionaries from all over the world, as well as other missionaries to Togo.
