good soil and me conference
(7/17/11)
We were blessed to have Pastor Hurlbut and Doris here for our graduation ceremony. We were also encouraged by all those who watched us live on the web cam and then sent us notes of congratulations. I must say that we were surprised upon our arrival when we found out that we were the only ones giving our
testimonies. We didn’t realize we were part of the formal graduation ceremony, except in the sense of walking across the stage. I guess that was
good thing, because we didn’t have time to get nervous.
We have had a whirlwind of two days going over the Good Soil information.
It is such great teaching, but for those of you who know ABWE, it was
taught in the ABWE fashion (like a fire hydrant). You almost need two days just to digest everything.
Tomorrow we head off to Baltimore for Missions Enrichment. We are not sure all
that it will entail, but we are looking forward to meeting others that will be working in Mango with us. We have already been able to meet quite a few people heading to Mango, including one gentlemen (and his wife) who will be work in maintenance alongside Eric. He has been a maintenance missionary for years and is switching fields. He is already at 100% support and has worked in a number of places in
Africa. We were very encouraged by them and are looking forward to working side by side with them in Mango.
We can’t even begin to thank all of you who faithfully pray for us. It is
amazing when you stop and look at all the details that have to line up in order
for us to even be here. We serve such an amazing God! It’s humbling
and even scary to think that He would entrust us with the job of reaching an
unreached people group. I am so thankful that all we have to do is be willing, and that he will take care of the rest.
Prayer Request:
~that God would open opportunities to share the gospel, and that we would have the continued boldness to take those opportunities
~ Safety in traveling
~Protect for the kids as they participate in the teen program (no physical accidents)
~That we would be able to retain all the information that we are learning and apply it faithfully to our lives.
Thank you for your support and prayers.
